Bill/Bob: so I have just opened this book again to end my day with some fine reading. These pictures are of 3 consecutive pages at the front of Men to Match My Mountains revealing it's part of a "history" series; is not a "biographical novel"; and is owned by brother Bill! So Bill I would love to trade this personal book of yours for your generic one when we get a chance ...

I came home and saw that in my copy, as well! Congratulations! But you may want to look at the footnotes and see that some of them have sources and some do not. It appears that the the publisher wanted to call this book history, but be aware that he added conversations that are not found in historical sources.
Also, the bibliography is quite incredible and he clearly did a lot of historical research for this book as I believe he did for his others.
When I read The agony and the Ecstasy, I was impressed with the details he included about sculpture and Italy and history. He actually went over to Italy and spent time with sculpturers to understand the craft before writing the book. I still love men to match my mountains more than just about any other biographical fiction, er, I mean history book, that I've ever read!
It was great seeing you guys and having some friendly debate and fun again like old times even though it was under very sad circumstances. We need to get together more often.

I concur, it was great for us to spend some time together.
One thing that I think all of us bro's are capable of is unending argument...the good news is when we use it to further our understanding and knowledge. I enjoy it and glad we can do it in fun and with laughs. Ultimately whether this book is historical fictional, either or both; we love history and learning and this book provides both. The little debate and prompting of further research, the responses to each challenge has increased my knowledge about a topic I enjoy. Thx for your additional homework below...
All Good!
